Banana Bread

I have wanted to share this recipe with you for a while.  I have been making this for a few years and it is a hit with family and friends.  It is a great recipe to use when you start to notice the bananas turning brown.  It my opinion, the browner the banana the better it is for the recipe!

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup margarine
2 eggs
1 1/4 cup bananas, mashed
1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinammon
1 cup chocolate chips

1.  Cream sugar and margarine together
2.  Add eggs and bananas, make sure to mix well
3.  Stir in flour, followed by salt and baking soda.  Make sure mixture is well incorporated.
4.  Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan.
5.  Bake in a 350 degree oven for 50-55 minutes.
6.  Cool bread in loaf pan for about 15 minutes then remove and place on wire rack to finish the cooling process.

**This recipe can also be used to make muffins.  I have done that in the past.  It makes for a quick breakfast on the go!

Grab a book, cup of tea and enjoy the bread!

The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie

I am always on the search for a good chocolate chip cookie recipe.  I have found some that are good and some that are bad.  A few days ago, I came across the BEST recipe.  It combines two of my favorite things: chocolate and peanut butter.  Yum!

This recipe comes courtesty of allrecipes and I followed the recipe exactly.  The cookies turned out fabulous and everyone in the house loved them.  Once they were gone, the kids requested them immdiately for dessert after dinner, in their lunches and even said they wanted them for snack (which we all know won't happen, snacks are healthy, right?!?)  I know that I will be baking these cookies a lot!  These would be great to bake for a school bake sale or for a new neighbor to welcome them to the neighborhood.

This recipe was quick and easy.  A true crowd pleaser.  Hope you like it too!
